Amid much fanfare and expectation, Facebook has finally filed to go public. So we thought that perhaps Facebook itself can provide a glimpse into how its San Francisco Bay Area-based employees are different from its US users as a whole, using aggregate data which it rounds off to the nearest 20 users.

This is not a gauge of absolute popularity but relative popularity among the Facebook Bay Area employees – for example Mark Zuckerberg is the 10th most popular interest at Facebook, but he only sneaks in at 25th most “uniquely” popular to the Facebook crew. On the other hand, Beast (Zuck and Priscilla Chan’s dog) is the 3rd most popular interest among Facebook employees and ranks 2nd in our most popular list here.

For the record, the most absolutely popular interest among Facebook employees is “Social Networks” which they share with over 12 million other US Facebook users (making it less unique to them as a group).
